Hiking & Foraging

All of us are an important part of this place.

Each spring and fall, a group of 12 kids heads out into the woods, dunes, fields, and waterways of the Outer Cape to explore our local ecosystems. There, we move our bodies, have fun outside, and learn to identify and work with edible and medicinal species.

“Elspeth saw my son’s love of nature and helped it grow. She gave him the knowledge and confidence to see his natural surroundings with new eyes, and that curiosity has stayed with him. Her impact went far beyond teaching foraging - it deepened his connection to the natural world.”  - Jenn

“My daughter loves hiking & foraging. She comes home bubbling with excitement for the natural world as explored with Elspeth’s expert guidance.”  - Rachel

“Hiking and foraging club has been the perfect experience for my nine-year-old son. He loves being outdoors, going on adventures, and being in Wellfleet’s woods. Elspeth took the kids out hiking every week, rain or shine, and encouraged them to run and play while simultaneously learning about the nature around them. I can’t say enough good things about this program!”  - Lisa
